Staff messages
Cleaning and control staff use the message center on the staff web hub and in the mobile app; they write to their managers, reply, and answer attendance reminders with quick actions.
Field staff have their own message center too. Staff see messages and announcements from managers, the alerts meant for them and account messages there. They can write to their managers and colleagues and reply to messages.
Where staff use it
- Staff web hub: after signing in with the personnel code, the bell and the Message center page.
- Mobile app (1.9.0 or later): the message center replaces the old Alerts screen. See Mobile app.
The folders are Inbox, Starred, Archive and Sent. The categories are Alerts, Announcements and Messages. Staff can mark items read or unread, star and archive them.
Write a message as staff
Open a new message
In the message center, select New message.
Pick the recipient
In To, search for a manager or a colleague.
Write and send
Write the subject and message. In the mobile app you can add photos. Select Send.
Staff messages are in-app only; staff cannot send e-mail or SMS. Staff cannot send announcements to audiences.
Attendance reminders
A reminder about an open attendance session arrives in the message center as an alert. The alert has two quick actions:
| Quick action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Check out | Closes the open session. |
| I'm still here | Stops the second reminder for that session. It never changes the auto-close time. |
Staff also get a message when a session closes automatically or an admin corrects the check-out time. For the reminder times, see Attendance.
Depending on the staff member's preferred channel, the reminder also goes out by e-mail or SMS. During Staff SMS quiet hours, the SMS is skipped; the in-app message and e-mail still go out.
Language
System messages are written in the person's preferred language.
Limits
- Mobile push notifications are not available yet. The app shows unread counts and refreshes them about every minute.
- Staff do not have drafts or scheduling.
