How messages are sent

  • Each channel has its own queue: in-app, e-mail and SMS.
  • Failed sends are retried automatically, with longer waits between tries.
  • E-mail and SMS go through the ENA Gateway or your own provider accounts. For provider settings, see Message channels.

Message records

Every send shows under System → Records in the Message records mode: status, channel, provider and time.

Sensitive content, such as security codes, is never stored in readable form in the records or in the inbox.

Quiet hours

  • SMS quiet hours for admins: each user sets them under Preferences → Alert preferences → Quiet hours. SMS alerts that arrive in that window are held. When it ends, they go out as one digest SMS. In-app alerts and e-mail are not affected.
  • Staff SMS quiet hours: set for the whole organization on Attendance module → Reminders & timesheet (22:00–08:00 by default). In that window, attendance SMS to staff are skipped. The in-app message and e-mail still go out.

Retention

DataKept for
Inbox copies365 days. Starred items are kept.
Delivery content (text, payload)Cleared after 180 days. The delivery record (status, time) stays.
DraftsUntil deleted
AttachmentsDeleted when no message uses them

All data stays in your organization's own installation and database, like the rest of the product.
