This article was verified with an older release. Screen names or steps may differ in the current version.

Since EnaFeedback 2.3.0, the admin panel (/admin) is fully usable on phones, phones in landscape, tablets and touch screens. You do not need to install anything: open your panel address in your phone's browser and sign in with the same account. This article explains how the panel behaves on small and touch screens and which task still needs a desktop.

Required role and version

  • The menus you see are based on your roles, just like on a desktop. See Roles and permissions.
  • The behavior described here applies to EnaFeedback 2.3.0 and later. In older versions, the panel works only in a limited way on small screens.

The browser panel is not the mobile app

This article covers the admin panel in a browser. Admin mode in the EnaFeedback mobile app is a separate product with its own screens. See Mobile app.

The drawer menu

On wide screens the menu stays docked on the left. On phones and touch tablets it moves into a drawer:

Open the menu

Tap the menu button (Open menu) at the left of the top bar. The bar also shows the name of the current page.

Choose a page

The drawer lists the menu sections (Organization, Hygiene report, Feedback, System and so on) in the same order as on a desktop. You can also find a page by name with Search menu. The footer lines that sit at the bottom of the page on a desktop are in the drawer too.

On laptops and desktops used with a mouse or trackpad, the menu stays docked; on tablets used with a finger, it opens as a drawer up to larger screen widths.

Dialogs and filters

  • Full-screen dialogs: On a phone, add and edit dialogs open as a page that fills the screen.
  • Confirmation dialogs slide up from the bottom.
  • The date filter opens as a bottom sheet on short screens.
  • Tab strips stay on one line; swipe the strip sideways to see tabs that do not fit.

List and detail screens

Screens that show a list on the left and details on the right, such as Module management, System settings, Preferences and Message center, collapse into one column on a phone:

  1. You see the list first; tap an item to open its details.
  2. While you are in the details, the page header is hidden so more content fits.
  3. To return to the list, use the back button on screen or your phone's back gesture.

The KPI strip in reports (the summary number cards) scrolls sideways; swipe it to see all the cards. Lists scroll together with the page.

Touch use

  • Input fields use a 16-pixel font on touch devices, so an iPhone does not zoom in when you tap a field.
  • Tooltips that appear on mouse hover on a desktop open when you tap.
  • Action buttons that appear only on hover are always visible on touch screens.
  • Touch targets are at least 40 pixels.

Pages that look different on a phone

  • Check-in / check-out records: The On site now list and the per-person timesheet use a card view.
  • The Roles & permissions table can be viewed By role or By permission on a phone.
  • The time-slot chart in cleaning and control plans is edited by touch (menu and handles).
  • Reports: Charts fit narrow screens, and Excel export is available in the card view too.
  • Message center: In landscape on a phone, the reply area gets smaller.
  • Buildings, the content and survey editors, ticket and hygiene dialogs and the setup wizard are also adapted to small screens.

What stays on desktop

The poster template editor works on desktop

The poster template editor does not open on phones or touch tablets. Its canvas needs a mouse (or trackpad) and a screen at least 1024 pixels wide. On a phone you can see the template list and edit an existing template's name and description; creating and designing templates is done on a desktop.

If you open the editor on a phone, you see "Template editor is available on desktop only". See Poster template editor.

Known limits

  • The admin panel runs in the browser; there is no separate admin app to add to your home screen. The staff panel, however, can be added to the home screen as "EnaFeedback".
  • Your browser may keep the old icon cached for a while; the new EnaFeedback icon appears once the cache expires.
