Navigating to Locations
In the admin dashboard, click Buildings in the left sidebar. The Buildings page shows all your buildings in a card layout with a summary of floors, units, and active locations in each.
Adding a building
- Click Add building.
- Enter a name and an optional description.
- Click Save. The building appears in the card list.
Adding a floor
- Open a building by clicking its card.
- Click Add floor.
- Enter a floor name (e.g., Ground Floor, 1F, Mezzanine).
- Optionally enter a floor number for sorting (numeric).
- Click Save.
Adding a unit
- Open a floor within a building.
- Click Add unit.
- Enter a unit name.
- Optionally add a unit code and description.
- Click Save.
Adding a location
- Open a unit.
- Click Add location.
- Enter a location name and optionally a custom location code.
- Click Save. The location is created in inactive state.
Activate it after assigning a poster.
Editing a location
- Open the location.
- Click Edit (pencil icon).
- Update the name, code, or description.
- Click Save.
Changing a location code invalidates all existing QR posters for that location. You will need to regenerate and reprint affected posters.
Deactivating a location
Deactivating a location does not delete it — it hides it from active analytics and prevents new poster assignments. Historical data is preserved.
- Open the location.
- Toggle Active to off.
- Confirm the deactivation.
Any posters at the location stop accepting responses immediately.
Bulk import via CSV
For large properties with many units:
- Navigate to Buildings → Import locations.
- Download the CSV template.
- Fill in building, floor, unit, and location columns.
- Upload the file.
The import creates missing buildings, floors, and units automatically. Existing items with the same name are updated rather than duplicated.
Reordering floors and units
Drag the handle (⠿) on the left of any floor or unit card to change the display order. Order affects how locations appear in analytics tables and dropdown menus.
Searching locations
Use the search bar at the top of the Buildings page to find any location by name or code across all buildings and floors. Results show the full path (building → floor → unit → location).
